ORCHID SHOW & COMPETITION

ORCHID LANDSCAPE COMPETITION

1. The Orchid Landscape competition will be held from 24 - 28 July 2019.

2. Closing date for submission of participation is on 31 May 2019.

3. There are two (2) categories for Orchid Landscape Competition:-






RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Each participating display should consist of 50% orchid plant 50% (non-flowering) plants, properly labelled title and set up within given time as regulated by the committee.

2. Landscape setting up period is from 20 - 22 July 2019 and must be completed by 5.00 p.m.

3. Judging will be held on Tuesday 23 July 2019 at 9.00 a.m.During the judging time, all exhibitors and members of the public should leave the show area.

4. Landscape display is to be removed on 29 July 2019 from 8.00 a.m. until 5.00p.m.

5. Landscape display must consist of orchid plants with or without flowers to showcase beauty of orchids in order to educate the public about orchids. A display that is not relevant to orchids is prohibited.

6. Any multimedia must be submitted to the committee prior to setting up the display, as it can be removed if it is deemed inappropriate.

7. Ornamental plants, leaves, moss and other plants can be used to decorate the display but not artificial or dyed plants.

8. Ornamental plants will be provided by the organisers.

9. Materials such as tree branches, pebbles, sand, rock boulders, bamboo and etc., will be provided by the organisers.

10. PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUESTED TO INFORM ORGANISERS ON THE TYPE OF MATERIALS AND QUANTITY NEEDED OR OTHER ALTERNATIVES.

11. There will be registration of plants for judging and these plants will be benched in sections for judging by the stewards. Exhibitors are not allowed to bench their own plants.

12. Plants in landscapes will not be judged. Landscape exhibitors wishing to have plants judged should register them as in (11) above.

13. Plants will be labelled at registration, but it is important that exhibitors correctly identify and label plants before registration to avoid delays.

14. For overseas exhibitors, all orchid plants that are to be brought in for display require CITES and phytosanitary certificate. Cut orchids / flowers foliage plants require phytosanitary certificate. Please inform the organiser on the types / genera of orchids / plants to be brought in so that important permit can be applied in advance and a copy will be send to you for application of CITES and phytosanitary certificate.
